Director: Francois Truffaut. Cast: Jean-Pierre Cargol, François Truffaut.
In 1798, a child who can not walk or speak is discovered in a forest. Doctor Itard takes him in to educate him. Based on a true story.

February 8 Confidences trop intimes - Intimate Strangers (2004)
Director: Patrice Leconte. Cast: Fabrice Luchini, Sandrine Bonnaire, Michel Duchaussoy, Anne Brochet.
She confused him for a therapist and told him her deepest secrets. Now, two people who never should have met are discovering there's nothing more seductive than the truth.

February 22 Homage to Foreign cinema Volver (2006)
Director: Pedro Almodóvar. Cast: Penélope Cruz, Carmen Maura, Lola Dueñas, Blanca Portillo, Yohana Cabo
After her death, a mother returns to her home town in order to fix the situations she couldn't resolve during her life.

March 7 Police (1985)
Director: Maurice Pialat. Cast: Sophie Marceau, Gérard Depardieu, Sandrine Bonnaire, Richard Anconina, Pascale Rocard 
A moody, jaded police detective falls for a mysterious femme fatale while investigating a drug ring, and is drawn into a shady and dangerous scheme.

April 11 Le Retour de Martin Guerre (1982)
Director: Daniel Vigne. Cast: Nathalie Baye & Gérard Depardieu
In 16th-century France, a man who deserted his family returns after eight years, so changed that many of his relatives and neighbors believe he's a fraud.

May 9 La Faute à Fidel Blame it on Fidel (2006)
Director: Julie Gavras. Cast: Nina Kervel, Julie Depardieu, Stefano Accorsi, Benjamin Feuillet.
9-year-old Anna’s life is thrown into turmoil when her parents are drawn into the radical political scene in Paris of the 1970’s.

June 13 La Doublure The Valet (2006)
Director: Francis Veber. Cast: Gad Elmaleh, Daniel Auteuil, ALice Taglioni, Virginie Ledoyen, Kirsten Scott-Thomas, Dany Boon, Richard Berry.
In this comedy by the director of "The Dinner Game", a porter and a top-model have to pretend to be a couple in order to salvage a CEO's marriage.

A bittersweet and unusual love story of a 40-something comedienne traveling through the north of France with her one-woman show. Presentation: Nelly Van Loon 

September 12 De battre mon cœur s’est arrêté The Beat that My Heart Skipped (2005)
Director : Jacques Audiard. Cast : Romain Duris, Emmanuelle Devos, Niels Arestrup, Linh Dan Pham
One of the most acclaimed French films in recent years. Tom is following in his father’s footsteps as a Parisian thug, but chance encounter with his late mother’s music agent rekindles his dreams of becoming a concert pianist.

October 10 Ressources Humaines Human Resources (1999)
Director: Laurent Cantet. Cast: Jalil Lespert
Frank, a young and enthusiastic business school graduate, returns to his provincial hometown to take a management position in the factory where his father has been a machinist for 30 years.

November 14 Le Bossu - On Guard (1997)
Director: Philippe de Broca. Cast : Daniel Auteuil, Fabrice Luchini, Vincent Perez, Marie Gillain.
France, early 18th -Century. Lagardère, a prodigious swordsman, is framed for the murder of his friend, the Duke de Nevers. Behind the Duke's killing is his villainous cousin, who has designs on the Duke's infant child or, more specifically, her title. Lagardère saves the child and hides her for sixteen years until the time comes to reclaim her inheritance and place in society. "Si tu ne viens pas à Lagardère, Lagardère ira à toi!"

Director : Christophe Barratier. Cast: Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Kad Merad, Jean-Baptiste Maunier
The new teacher at a severely-run boys' boarding school works to positively affect the students' lives through music.

French Films in Sacramento movie theatres:

 The Crest movie theatre offers Alliance members a discounted ticket price of $5.50 on French films, anytime Monday-Thursday.  Members must present their membership card to receive discount.
