Multimedia Library - A true resource for francophiles!

The Alliance Française in Sacramento has a large collection of books, periodicals, movies and music available for you to borrow.  Individually selected, they form a broad reflection of francophone culture throughout the world; and we have resources for everyone - adults, children, travellers, native speakers as well as those learning the language.

Our movie library contains nearly 400 films in French (usually with subtitles). They are in either DVD or VHS format and may be borrowed for two weeks for $1 donation.

Our book library includes novels and short stories, poetry, plays, history, travel, biography, foreign literature and bandes dessinées!  Books may be borrowed for one month free of charge.

We also have our very own Ciné-Club Soirée Cinéma program: on the second Friday of each month (except during the Sacramento French Film Festival) a French film is shown in the AF office.  The films are introduced by one of our members and are shown in French with English subtitles.  Lively discussion follows after the film and everyone is encouraged to bring snacks to share.  Our Soirée Cinéma gives you the opportunity to watch a variety of French movies and to share the experience with others.
